The New York City Speech, Hearing and Language Association is a not-for-profit organization funded by dues. We are a community of speech-language pathologists and audiologists, teachers of the speech-language and/or hearing impaired and speech and hearing scientists established to:
- Promote and maintain high professional standards among its members.
- Inform, instruct and guide legislative and governmental agencies and the general public in matters relative to the need for and the value of services to the communicatively handicapped.
- Provide opportunities for the members to assemble regularly to engage in educational activities relevant to the field of speech, language and hearing.
- Maintain liaison with other professional organizations as a forum for sharing common concerns to strengthen the status and protect the integrity of the professions and to foster the professional interests of its members.
